We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Kitchen Assistant to embark on an exciting agency-based culinary journey with Raven Medical.   • Craft and prepare meals in line with residents' dietary requirements, considering specific restrictions or allergies.
  • Collaborate with care home management to plan menus, ensuring a diverse and balanced diet.
  • Adhere to IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative) guidelines, maintaining relevant documentation.
  • Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation, ensuring visually appealing and appetizing meals.
  • Address individual resident's dietary needs in coordination with the care home team.
  • Uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards, complying with food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Manage stock, including ordering and inventory control, to ensure availability of necessary ingredients and supplies.
  • Provide training and supervision to kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to proper food handling and preparation procedures.


  • Minimum one year of kitchen experience, preferably in a care home or similar setting.
  • Completed IDDSI training, with a strong understanding of guidelines and implementation.
  • Culinary qualifications and relevant certifications highly desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to create menus accommodating various dietary requirements and restrictions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Capability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for cooking and genuine interest in the well-being of elderly residents.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
